Coaches
Atanas Atanasov
Heralding from a part of Europe well known for it's fencing expertise, this Bulgarian masterclass has been coaching LUFC for more years than he'd care to remember (at least more than one, anyway). With a work ethic similar to a fabled android of the future, Atanas delivers each training session with vigour, humour and pride. Nothing less than a brilliant epeeist, his teachings transfer perfectly to all weapons, and his amusing personality and joking nature go well with his serious training.

Keith McCarthy
In contrast to Atanas, Keith comes from slightly closer climes. A born and bred Scouser, Keith is nothing short of hilarity on legs. Behind that fun-loving exterior, however, is a coach worthy of an MBE (or something like that). In fact, we aren't the only ones to think so, as Keith was awarded an Award of Merit - for services to fencing in Merseyside, by the British Fencing Association! Keith's lessons are valuable, concise and insightful, and he delivers them in such a way that you can see the magic happen. A highly experienced foilist, Keith runs his own club as well as coaching ours, which runs on a Monday night, of which you can find out more here.
"Don't be akin to something that isn't very good, and could, in fact, be used in a simile to describe something far from delectable"
